Oral pathology

The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology is the back bone of the institution. There are many different types of diseases that affect the oral cavity and many of these can only be diagnosed through microscopic examination.

The department involves the scientific reason of the causes and effects of oral diseases that combines knowledge with investigative procedures which is essential for diagnosis and the development of rationale treatment and preventive programs. Sir William osler has stated that “As is your pathology, so is your practice. In other words one cannot become a competent clinician without full Knowledge of pathology.
